How to use our products

Handcrafted soaps

Daily Cleansing: Lather the soap with water in your hands or on a washcloth, then apply it to damp skin. Massage gently in circular motions, focusing on areas that need extra care (like elbows or knees), then rinse with warm water.

Facial Cleansing: For sensitive facial skin, use my 100% grass-fed tallow or turmeric-infused olive oil facial bar, for example. Lather the soap in your hands, then apply it to your face in gentle circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with either cold or lukewarm water to avoid irritation.

Moisturizing body butter

Post-Bath or Shower: After cleansing, while the skin is still damp, apply the natural body butter to lock in moisture. Gently massage into the skin for a calming and nourishing experience.

Product shelf-life

Each product's shelf life varies since every soap, body butter, and cream is made with organic, naturally occurring ingredients. Our handcrafted soaps typically last a year, but we find that our customers run through them quickly. The moisturizing body butter has a shelf life of six months to a year; other products will traditionally last 3-6 months or longer.

Our production process

Our handcrafted soaps are made in small batches, starting with a chemical reaction. We combine an oil or fat with an alkali (such as lye) to create saponification, which produces soap and glycerin.

To summarize, the process is as follows:

  • Formulating the recipe

  • Preparing materials and workspace

  • Mixing the lye solution

  • Melting and mixing the oils

  • Combining lye and oils

  • Adding essential oils, natural additives and colorants

  • Pouring into molds

  • Setting and curing
